Did you know that May is Military Appreciation Month AND Jewish American Heritage Month? 9,700 Jewish soldiers fought in the Civil War: 6700 for the Union and 3000 for the Confederacy. There were eight Jewish generals and 21 Jewish colonels. Six Jews were awarded the Medal of Honor.
