Maple Ridge Cemetery located near Burrell’s Woods in Carmi is the final resting place of William “Hoppy” Rebstock. According to his gravestone, he was born July 11, 1878 and died November 12, 1952. The stone is inscribed “Here lies a man who lived and died for his country, relatives and friends.” A life sized statue of Hoppy stands on top of a marble pedestal at his grave.
